About Me:

I have an interesting background: from Asia, studying in US, and do my research in Latin America. I got graduate degrees in ecology and Latin American studies in IL, and then moved to UT to start my PhD.

I love Latin dance (salsa and Argentine tango), traveling, reading, playing piano, listening to music (classical, world, jazz, etc.), film (mostly international and art film), yoga, backpacking/hiking, cooking and language learning. It'd be great to enjoy both adventurous and intellectual activities with someone, and share thoughts about life together.
What have I been doing lately besides the heavy loads of work in grad school? In order to keep myself in a good shape, I regularly go dancing in the weekends. I also enjoy sitting in a cafe with or without accompany, just to relax and think about what other fun things I can do in town. I enjoy trying new and exotic restaurants with friends. I'd like to watch more movies, go out for concerts/plays and go out for more art/museum events as well.
Places I've visited besides US: Taiwan (where I'm from), Japan, France, Switzerland, Italy, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Ecuador, Mexico. Can't wait to go traveling again! I'll probably go to Peru and Ecuador next year, and Bali and Japan in 2009.
One last thing: I'm a DOG LOVER! Eventually when I graduate or get a stable job and a home with a yard, I'll really want to have big dogs (lab, golden retriever, etc.). I believe that dogs make someone a better person...
